A national standard on mobile vehicle security barriers is currently being developed, and the first part has now been published. The edition can be downloaded free of charge at https://www.beuth.de/de/technische-regel/din-spec-91414-1/337228584 and is officially called “DIN SPEC 91414-1:2021-04 Portable vehicle security barriers – Part 1: Requirements, test methods and performance rating”. The second part of DIN SPEC 91414-2 is currently being drawn up and will be concerned with the development of “Access control planning requirements in connection with the deployment of tested vehicle security barriers”.

We regard the development of a national standard as very positive, because it establishes important principles and provides legal certainty for decision-makers.
